BMGT10130 Mastering University Learning - a skill based approach

Originally designed for Level 1 students making the transition from second to third level education, it has proved so successful that access has be expanded to facilitate students from any Level and faculty who want to become more self-efficient and effective both personally & professionally. It is a skill-based module. The overall emphasis focuses on personal auditing, independent learning, communication, critical thinking, presentation and project management.Development and refinement of these skills are embedded throughout the module. Participants are challenged, and shown how to manage their educational and professional development through a process focusing on goal setting, action orientation, and review. Through this process they learn how to modify and enhance their attitudes, behaviours and cognitive skills required to be successful in college and later in the work environment.

Wouldn't recommend for a first year. Lecturer makes it was too hard for someone who has just started college. 2 individual assignments based off of readings. Really difficult and complex. Final assignment is a group project. Again really hard topic and you can't choose your group so you could be stuck with people who won't show up. Lecturer refuses to answer anyemails and is quite obnoxious.
