COMP10130 Computer Science in Practice
This module will introduce students to the breadth and depth of Computer Science. The course will cover major areas of current activity in the School with different guest lecturers giving weekly talks on the topics covered; for example, History of Algorithms, Graph Theory, Sustainability, Robotics, Networks, Cybercrime and Forensic Computing, Databases, Big Data Applications, Natural Language Processing, and Human Computer Interaction. The module has a significant practical component running parallel to the lectures.
Any student taking this module must have their own laptop.
