EDUC10170 How to Superpower your Learning in College
Do you want to become a more effective learner at college? Do you want to learn how to study better, take control of your motivation, and think more intelligently?
This module will help you superpower your learning by actively developing core competencies for effective learning. These are motivation, concentration, self-regulation, critical and creative thinking, having a positive self-identity, and managing examination stress. These competencies lie at the heart of human learning: our unique ability to learn complex things rapidly and intensely. However, often we are learning in the dark, lacking conscious control over how or why we learn. By harnessing recent advances in the Science of Learning (SoL) and the psychology of identity, we can begin to master our learning competencies whilst retaining a moral perspective on who we are within college and society.
Human Learning is taught using a flipped classroom model, where you will access the learning materials online then attend an on-campus small group tutorial. Each week you can prepare for the tutorial at your own pace by watching a pre-recorded lecture, engaging with online materials and activities, and doing a weekly reading from the module textbook.
In tutorials, your tutor will guide you and your classmates to build your learner competencies using active techniques, for example simulation games, quizzes, debates and problem solving.
We look forward to meeting you in Autumn 2021!

REVIEWSMODULE INFO
Easy Module to pass. Just go to tutorials weekly. Got an A by just putting a lot of effort into the essay the week it was due. Plus the content is helpful.
Honestly a very easy module to pass. The weekly topics are also very helpful for trying to get a better handle on college and your learning. The tutorials aren’t difficult and neither is the essay. Bit annoying that if you miss over 2 tutorials, your essay grade goes down a grade but other than that, i highly recommend it
