LANG10050 French General Purposes 4 (CEFR B1)
REVIEWSMODULE INFO
We were expected to engage in class quite a lot and there were a lot of times where I’d have to answer questions in French in front of everyone in the class. It can be a little daunting but you just have to be paying attention. Also, you are only examined on what you are taught in the module. You don’t have to know all of French to do really well so in that way it’s much better than the LC.
This is a good elective for anyone who was quite strong in LC French. The final grade is divided between a few different exams and assignments so it really takes the pressure off. The workload is a bit heavy but still very manageable. Definitely would recommend if you’re willing to give it a bit of time and you enjoy French.
Engaging module but found it quite time consuming, especially for an elective. Aural and oral exams quite difficult. Wouldn’t take it unless you got quite a good grade in LC or are very passionate on keeping it up
The module was more work than I thought it would be. Still enjoyed it and I liked the small class size as it was easy to get to know people. The aural work was very difficult for me but I found the rest of the content manageable.
If you did well in leaving cert French, this module is good for you. It's a nice break from your in-course modules and it's not too difficult if you enjoy the language. It's good for keeping your skill up
