LING10040 Words and Sentences
This module focuses on the processes by which natural language constructs words (Morphology), phrases and sentences (Syntax). The content is formal in nature and involves a substantial amount of abstraction aimed at capturing underlying patterns of distribution, the formulation of grammatical rules and the representation of structures in the form of diagrams, in addition to related technical terminology.

REVIEWSMODULE INFO
I would highly recommend this elective module to anyone with even a passing interest in linguistics/language. The module content is not difficult, the pace is somewhat slow, and there are no final or midterm exams!! Just two take home assignments throughout the semester, which aren't too challenging or time intensive. 2 lectures a week, a tutorial every other week and a little reading. (As currently run by Dr. Stephen Lucek.) A lovely elective that adds minimal extra workload to your week.
